Media Arts Center San Diego Education Plan Creation of a strategic plan for their Teen Producers Project, an educational program to train underserved and immigrant youth in the use of digital media and technology. San Diego Unified School District, Visual and Performing Arts Department San Diego Arts Education Partnership - Partnership Coordination and Consultation This was a collaboration between the arts community and the San Diego Unified School District that connected the local arts and culture community with San Diego’s public schools to increase the range and delivery of arts education programming that takes place there. Leadership Development The James Irvine Foundation Next Generation Arts Leadership Research Project In 2006, The James Irvine Foundation commissioned research to examine the forces, trends, and challenges facing California's arts sector. The resulting report, titled "Critical Issues Facing the Arts in California: A Working Paper," identified the development of the next generation of artists and arts managers as one of five key issues facing the arts sector that should be addressed to ensure the continued health and vitality of the field moving forward. In response to this finding, Irvine retained Victoria J Saunders Consulting to further conduct a multi-faceted research effort that investigates the leadership challenges and opportunities facing leaders and managers in California arts organizations. Illinois Arts Alliance: Arts Leadership for the 21st Century, Mentoring and Peer Coaching Program Toolkit Creating an instructive toolkit that describes the Illinois Arts Alliance's experiences and lessons learned in planning, implementing and overseeing Peer Coaching Circles and a Mentor Connection Referral Service. The toolkit will be made available online via the IAA website to assist other statewide and regional arts service organization, local arts agencies and others to implement similar programs in their communities.
